Real Support for Real Pressure
Whether you're a professional hitting a wall or a parent navigating a teen’s world, we’ll build a plan that actually fits your life.
Adults and High Achievers
Being the person everyone counts on comes with its own set of pressures. When the "just keep going" strategy stops working, it’s helpful to have a space to process burnout and stress. We focus on practical ways to manage high-stakes environments and find a better balance in your daily life.
Tweens and Growing Pains
The transition from childhood to the teenage years is often loud and messy. I work with 10- to 12-year-olds who are navigating the first real waves of social pressure, school anxiety, and big emotions. We focus on building a foundation of resilience and communication before the "small" problems turn into "big" ones.
High Conflict Co-Parenting
Divorce is difficult, but high-conflict litigation can be devastating for children. I work with families to navigate the complexities of court-involved transitions. My focus is on reducing the friction in the co-parenting relationship and creating a structured environment that prioritizes the stability and well-being of the kids during and after the legal process.
Note: Please review Practice Policies for more information about services and scope when families are court-involved.
Teens & High-Pressure Worlds
Between academic expectations and the noise of social media, many teens feel a constant pressure to perform. I provide a place where they can be themselves and talk through the challenges of modern adolescence, focusing on building resilience and a solid sense of self.
For therapy to work, teens need to know their space is private. While parents are kept informed of overall progress and any safety concerns, the specific details of our conversations stay between the teen and me. This trust is what allows us to get to the root of the issues and make real changes.
LPC Supervision
I offer off-site LPC supervision as a way to strengthen the pool of mental health providers in Oklahoma. Supervision is a collaborative space focused on your growth as a counselor; it’s not about making money from candidates or exploiting their labor. My approach is direct, supportive, and practical, helping you build confidence, refine your skills, and navigate counseling challenges with ethical, evidence-based strategies.
How it works:
Why Choose Me as a Supervisor?
I am committed to mentoring counselors in a way that strengthens the profession and ensures clients in Oklahoma have access to skilled, ethical providers. My supervision style balances guidance with practical tools to help you succeed.
Off-site vs. On-site Supervision:
Off-site supervision allows you to gain experience at your worksite while receiving focused supervision outside of that environment, giving you dedicated time to process cases, reflect, and mature professionally. I am not concerned with the finances of your worksite or your output as an employee; rather, your supervision is entirely centered on your growth as a provider.
Many candidates find on-site supervision helpful for direct observation, immediate feedback, and as a cost-saving measure. Understanding the benefits of both can help you choose the option that best supports your needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
My clients typically have set, recurring appointments to build therapy into their routine. Availability fluctuates as folks reduce frequency or discharge. For the most up-to-date information, it is recommended you email to ask. It is helpful to include your own availability if you need high-demand appointment times, such as evenings or weekends.
Generally, it is easier to accommodate requests for morning or daytime appointments with short notice.
Reach out to schedule a free consultation. You will have an opportunity to tell me what's going on, ask questions, and get a feel for our compatibility. I will encourage you to interview multiple therapists as part of this process.
Effective December 31, 2025, the practice no longer accepts Medicaid, SoonerCare, or any of the Managed Care Plans. In accordance with professional ethics, I provide some reduced-cost or pro bono services for a percentage of my clientele. Please reach out if you wish to discuss a sliding-scale cash rate. If I cannot help you directly, it is possible I have additional resources that can.
Yes. I am in-network with most major plans, including Aetna, BlueCrossBlueShield, HealthChoice, UnitedHealth, Medica, and more. I can also provide necessary documentation for you to request reimbursement from your insurance provider if I am not in-network with them.
You can usually visit your insurance company's website to search for in-network providers. I am typically listed under my name, Candace Lewis.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full rate of the session (not just the copay). To accept insurances, I sign contracts with individual companies. These contracts often require that I charge the negotiated rate for the scheduled service, and that can vary between plans. To honor the contract and protect my business, that is what I do.
If we expect severe weather, I am proactive and will attempt to reach you 24+ hours before session to discuss moving to Telehealth or rescheduling with no fee. Your safety is more important than dollars.
Each client’s needs are different. Some come for short-term support, while others find long-term therapy helpful. My preference is for people to phase out of therapy as symptoms abate; however, if you prefer to remain in therapy as ongoing self-care, we can discuss this.
Caregivers should expect to remain on-site, either in the lounge or parking lot, while their child, tween, or young teen is in session. If your teenager has a license and can drive themselves to therapy, they are permitted to attend alone.
Regardless of age, I consider parents part of the treatment team. Expect scheduled parent-only sessions or check-ins every few weeks so we can ensure the changes we’re making in the office are actually sticking at home and elsewhere.
Through experience, I have found that therapy is only effective when the child isn't caught in the middle. For a child to feel safe and make real progress, they need to know that both of their parents support the process.
Requiring consent from both parents from day one ensures that this office remains a neutral, safe space for your child.
Both parents will need to activate their own portal accounts and sign the initial consent forms before the first intake session is scheduled.
Both parents should plan to participate in therapy at some point, either in a joint session with the child, or with me separately. Individual appointments can be done via Telehealth to accommodate parent work schedules.
The only exception to this policy is if one parent has a court order specifically terminating the other parent’s right to medical information or contact. I will ask for a copy.
If you need help finding a provider with different policies, you can let me know and I am happy to provide referral information to help your child access care.
In short: no. My role is as a treating therapist, not a forensic expert or custody evaluator. The goal of our work is healing and clinical progress; becoming an advocate in a legal battle shifts that dynamic.
Like everyone in Oklahoma, I am a mandatory reporter. I am required to report to the proper authorities if there is a reason to believe a child or vulnerable adult is being abused or neglected, or if a client is an immediate danger to themselves or others.
Under Oklahoma law, I am bound by confidentiality. However, I must comply with court orders issued by a judge. It is important to note that a subpoena from an attorney is not the same as a court order from a judge.
Finally, to discourage the use of therapeutic records in litigation or the weaponization of therapy, I have a strict fee schedule for any legal-related tasks. Those fees are not covered by insurance.
